Enclosed is an application for registration with the Triangle Softball Officials Association for the 2012 football season. Our first clinic is on Monday, July 6th.
If you desire to register, please fill out the application and return to me at our clinic at Harnett Central Middle School by July 28th or mail to the address above. Any application received after July 28th must include a $20.00 late registration fee. The booking fee for school & recreation football games is $60.00 ($30.00 for members of a high school association). I need your completed registration form by July 28th.
If you know someone that is interested in officiating during the upcoming season, have them get in contact with me as soon as possible and/or attend our clinics early. They do not need to wait till clinics are over and then decide they want to officiate.
Our State football clinic is scheduled for 6:30 PM at Garner High School on Tuesday, August 7th. The Football Exam is scheduled online in, August 24. All high school and middle school officials are required to take the online exam and all recreation officials need to take the exam.
If you have not registered with the NCHSAA for the upcoming football season you need to do so immediately after the first of May by going to https://officiating.....org/login.aspx and registering. You can pay online or by mailing a check to: NCHSAA Officiating PO Box 3216 Chapel Hill, NC 27515.
Officials must be registered with the NCHSAA to call high school, middle school, Pop Warner or recreation games. If you are not, I will not be able to use you. By registering you receive rule books and insurance with the NCHSAA. The NCHSAA registration deadline for football is June 15th.
Local clinics will start on Monday, July 7th at 7:00 pm at Harnett Central Middle School. Drive around the back of the building. We will meet in the second or third classroom hut on the right. There will be scrimmages for us to cover and work on the field. All high school officials must attend six clinics and three scrimmages and middle school officials should attend as many as possible. Assignment preference will be given to those officials that attend the most clinics and scrimmages and demonstrate the most potential for success.

The booking fee is reduced to $30.00 if you are a member of the Triangle Football Officials Assn. or the East Carolina Football Officials Association IF paid no later than July 28th. There will be no exceptions regarding late registration. If you pay after July 28th the booking fee is $80.00.
I agree to serve as an independent contractor with respect to any assignment that I accept. Furthermore, I agree to hold the Triangle South Officials Association Booking Agent and Board of Directors harmless and free from any and all liability for injury or damage sustained as a result of any assignment. I hereby certify that I am in good physical and mental condition to officiate the games to which I am assigned. I have insurance to cover me in case of an injury or accident while I am officiating.
I understand and agree that this registration is for one year only. Further, I understand that registration does not carry any obligation for a specific number or type of assignments. Any assignment which I receive is subject to cancellation by the Booking Agent if he deems such cancellation in the best interest of the official or the Triangle South Officials Association.
I also agree to keep the Booking Agent fully informed of all close out dates, attend officiating clinics and to become a student of the game. Any assignment returned to the Booking Agent after assignments have been published is subject to a $10.00 cancellation fee, payable within 7 days of the returned assignment. Having someone substitute for you without approval of the supervisor is grounds for suspension from the association.
